Spectacular designs light up GCU Fashion Showcase
Some "truly spectacular" designs lit up the runway at GCU Fashion Showcase 2023.
The sold-out event featured a catwalk show, a creative exhibition, and garments designed for live industry projects.
The 2023 collection included a range of contemporary streetwear fashion garments using tartan fabrics from MacGregor and MacDuff and designs inspired by architecture and geometric shapes.
And ahead of the 200th anniversary of world-famous coat maker Mackintosh in 2024, our student designers created contemporary capsule collections, in keeping with the historic brand.
Meanwhile, the digital exhibition showcased innovative fashion branding with magazines, lookbooks and visual merchandise schemes.
Professor John Lennon, Dean of Glasgow School for Business Society, said: "What we've seen tonight is what this country does very well - creative talent that blows you away. Every year the showcase gets better and better.
"We've got a great academic team in Glasgow who have worked incredibly hard and most importantly we have an array of talented students, from first to fourth year, who have produced some truly spectacular work."
Dr Tessa Hartmann CBE, Honorary President of the British School of Fashion, said: "The thing I love about Glasgow Caledonian is that it's very much inclusive. We welcome talented people from all over the world.
"It's great to see such a packed audience tonight witness something very special."
