Glasgow Caledonian University prepares for Winter Graduations 2025
Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) will celebrate its Winter Graduations 2025 at the city’s Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 November. The ceremonies will recognise the achievements of students across the University community and honour individuals who have made significant contributions in their respective fields.
Those receiving honorary degrees this winter are:
Jason Ferguson
A documentary filmmaker, founder of Fuzz TV and Aztec Event Management, and Director of ACF Promotions, Jason Ferguson has played a key role in supporting his father Sir Alex Ferguson’s philanthropic relationship with Glasgow Caledonian University. His work reflects a longstanding connection between the Ferguson family and GCU’s commitment to social good and community impact.
Jonathan Chippindale
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Holition, an experiential creative studio combining technology and digital anthropology to deliver projects across luxury, fashion, beauty and culture. Jonathan is also a valued member of GCU’s Fashion Advisory Board, contributing his expertise to the University’s industry partnerships and student experience.
Allison Kirkby
Chief Executive Officer of BT Group and an alumna of the former Glasgow College of Technology, Allison Kirkby is the first woman to lead BT in its 170-year history. Since joining the company in 2024, she has overseen major developments in digital infrastructure, advanced sustainability initiatives, and led efforts to close the digital divide through improved connectivity and access.
Professor Tom Steele
Director of Estates and Facilities at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Professor Steele is a GCU graduate and currently serves on the University’s School of Science and Engineering advisory board. He continues to contribute to the development of sustainable and innovative infrastructure across the health sector.
