GCU graduate announces headliners for music festival
The headline acts have been confirmed for a Glasgow music festival, organised by a GCU graduate to help fund the delivery of ambulances to communities in need.
Boney M featuring Maizie Williams; Boyzlife, featuring Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden; Newton Faulkner; and the Bay City Rollers will perform at Fun For Life Fest on May 16 at the city's Tollcross Park.
Some of the festival's profits will be used to buy 15 ambulances to help people in need around the world, including one for a Scottish hospice.
Umran Ali Javaid, who has driven more than 40 second-hand emergency vehicles to conflict zones, launched the event after utilising the University's Entrepreneurial Hub.
Members of the Hub, which is open to students, staff, and alumni, can access dedicated workspaces, meeting rooms, and the opportunity to secure seed funding.
Umran, said: "The Entrepreneurial Hub has been very good. I've been able to set up business meetings here and meet a lot of professionals.
"I've also been able to meet mentors, who deliver talks here, and learn something new all the time."
