A missing person's investigation aided by the Scottish Cold Case Unit at Glasgow Caledonian has featured in a televised national appeal.

Vanished: The Search for Britain's Missing, presented by Dan Walker on Channel 5, profiled the case of Marcus Rigby, who disappeared from his Lancashire home 28 years ago

Volunteers from Glasgow Caledonian, led by Dr Maureen Taylor, have been helping the Cold Case Unit at the University of Central Lancashire and Locate International progress the case.

The Channel 5 show, which airs every Wednesday, featured interviews with Marcus' family and showed relatives meeting the students involved.

Marcus vanished in 1995, aged 27, after telling his family he was going away and would phone in a week.

He has never been found despite numerous appeals for information and reported sightings in the Weymouth area.

Vanished: The Search for Britain's Missing is available on the My5 catch-up service.

Anyone with information about the case should call 116 000.
