Fair Fashion Center Joins Textile Exchange’s 2017 Sustainability Conference: Catalyzing the Sustainable Development Goals

Frank Zambrelli, Senior Advisor to the Fair Fashion Center, and Maggie Kervick, Director of Strategy and Integrated Partnerships, will join conversations focused on regenerative agriculture and circular economy. Additionally, they will host a briefing panel for industry executives on the Fair Fashion Center’s approach to profitability and sustainability.

Fair Fashion Center will be presenting alongside an esteemed line up of brands and retailers that are also a part of Textile Exchange’s network, including but not limited to: Walmart, H&M, C&A Foundation, Ikea and PVH.

Mr. Zambrelli will be moderating a session entitled, "The Post Consumer Textile Collections Conundrum". As technology and innovation transform waste into worth, Mr. Zambrelli will lead Traci Kinden (Textile Program, Circular Economy) and Anne Johnson (Partner and Vice President, RRS), in discussing solutions that can change the 'dirty perception' of post-consumer waste and position it as a pathway to a profitable, circular economy.

Ms. Kervick joins, "The Journey to Regenerative Agriculture and How We Get There: +/- 5% Fiber Challenge" in discussion with Joshua Brugeman (Business Unit Manager, Responsible Sourcing at NSF International), Kelly Poole (Vice President, Governmental Affairs, Organic Trade Association) and moderated by LaRhea Pepper, Managing Director of Textile Exchange. Textile Exchange has promoted sustainable agriculture and the use of preferred fibers as one barometer of transformative change of the textile industry. Kervick will discuss effective approaches to integrating preferred fibers and materials, while maintaining margins and creating a more transparent supply chain.

This year marks Textile Exchange's 15th anniversary and evolution from a small non-profit to a respected global presence that inspires and equips people to accelerate sustainable business practices in the textile value network. The summit offers participants the latest research, trends, innovations and solutions to challenges faced by the apparel and textile industry.
