If you are a refugee, your fee status will be applied in line with government policy and UKCISA guidance. You are likely to receive home fees status and have your fees paid for you by SAAS.
If you are an asylum seeker, we offer an Asylum Seeker Scholarship (a tuition fee waiver), applicable to the following four categories if successful GCU will cover the fees for a 4 year Undergraduate degree's only :
Individual is waiting on a decision on an asylum application; Individual is a dependent of an asylum applicant; Individual is awaiting the results of an asylum appeal; Individual has been given leave to enter/remain on Human Rights grounds. Tuition Fees The University will provide scholarship funding to cover the full cost of the tuition fees for the student’s course until such time as the student is eligible to receive support from the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) .

Applications will be considered from potential students who:
hold a conditional or unconditional offer to study at Glasgow Caledonian University for 2025-2026 (September start courses); and have submitted, or are the dependant of someone who has submitted, an application to the Home Office for recognition as a Refugee under the 1951 UN Convention on the Status of Refugees (hereafter “The Convention”) and not yet received a final decision from the Home Office on that application; or have been offered leave to remain in the UK on the grounds of Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights provided that the student has not become eligible for Student Support from the relevant student funding body in Scotland, England, Wales or Northern Ireland. Applicants must live within the Glasgow or surrounding areas at the point of application as housing costs are not covered by the scholarship and be coming from School or College.
Applications will only be accepted from prospective students outwith the Glasgow and surrounding areas if they submit written evidence of appropriate accommodation arrangements at the point of application.

Applications that do not have the relevant attachments emailed to GCU will not be progressed.
Application will only be accepted from students coming from School or College and be living in the Greater glasgow area.
Awardee's must make good academic progress each year of studies.
Awards will not be deferred to any other academic session.
Change of programmes will not be permitted.
You may only be awarded the scholarship that offers you the most benefit.
you can only receive one award for tuition fees only self-funded students can apply for tuition fee scholarships. Scholarships will not be deferred to any other academic session and cannot be combined with any other GCU tuition fee scholarship.
