Hall hire
Pricing and essential information
Advance hall booking
Full or half hall activities
Staff at the ARC reception desk can normally only accept bookings up to a maximum of two weeks in advance for half hall or full hall activities. If you need to book half hall or full hall activities more than two weeks in advance, then you should email arc@gcu.ac.uk.
Other activities
One or two badminton courts or table tennis can only be booked a maximum of one day in advance (subject to availability).
Basketball hoops, for up to four people, can only be booked on the day you wish to play (subject to availability).
Block booking
A block booking is an agreement to hire an activity area, on a specific day and time, on a recurring weekly basis until cancelled, or until a fixed date. This is a convenient option instead of having to contact the ARC every week. The minimum booking duration is one hour.
Due to GCU Students' Association sport club bookings, there's less availability, particularly in the evenings, between October and April.
Suitable activities
Block booking is available for a wide variety of activities, such as:
Volleyball - full small hall or half large hall
Basketball - half-court or full-court (large hall only)
Football - half or full large hall
Badminton - minimum of three courts (full small hall or half large hall)
Martial arts (judo, TKD, aikido etc) - small hall.
Single badminton courts, basketball hoops, and table tennis cannot be block booked. These can be booked by calling or visiting the reception desk.
