Customers can call the ARC reception desk on +44 (0)141 331 3116 for any short-notice updates to classes.
Zoom links are available on the timetable on this page for classes that offer this. Some classes are in-person only with no Zoom option.
Zoom class passwords
Email arc@gcu.ac.uk with your full name and date of birth to obtain Zoom class password or call the ARC reception desk on +44 (0)141 331 3116.
Please ensure that you have obtained the password in plenty of time before the class starts as the reception desk can be busy at peak times.
How to join a Zoom class
On the class you wish to join, copy the meeting ID then press the 'Join class' button. Paste the meeting ID then you will be prompted to enter the password. Once the password has been entered you should now have joined the class.
Depending on how the instructor has set up the Zoom class, you may not be able to join until they start the Zoom meeting.
Technical support
ARC staff are able to provide the meeting ID and password but we are are unable to troubleshoot difficulties joining an online class.
Each class costs £4.50 or all classes are included with any gold membership.
You can now pre-book your place on our most popular classes when attending in person.

Yoga, pilates and spin
Spaces are limited on the following classes so those who have pre-booked will have priority should demand exceed available spaces:
- Monday 12.10pm Pilates
- Tuesday 12.10pm spin
- Tuesday 5.10pm Pilates
- Wednesday 12.10pm Pilates
- Thursday 12.10pm yoga
Glutes thighs and abs (GTA)
Spaces are not limited but pre-booking will allow an appropriate amount of equipment to be set up for the class:
- Tuesday 5.10pm glutes, thighs and abs
Body conditioning
Body conditioning combines cardio and resistance training exercise techniques, including aerobics, floor work, weights, and resistance training. This ensures a full-body workout.
BODYPUMP™
Developed by Les Mills, BODYPUMP™ is a fast-paced, barbell-based full-body workout specifically designed to help you get lean, toned, and fit. It uses a combination of motivating music and moves to lift the heart rate, work the muscles, and help you get and stay fit.
Box fit
Box fit is a high-intensity cardiovascular/muscular endurance class, based around boxing-style exercises, using gloves, pads, and punch bags. Not only does this class improve your fitness but also your boxing technique.
Circuits
A full-body workout combining cardio-vascular, muscular-endurance, and weight training, with a wide variety of exercises around different stations. This class is suitable for both beginners and advanced exercisers as the exercises can be tailored to your needs.
Core and tone
Core and tone focuses on strengthening, stabilising, and conditioning the core muscles. These muscles include the rectus abdominus, obliques, and lower back muscles. This helps improve posture and gives you a stable base when lifting weights.
Glutes, thighs and abs
Glutes, thighs and abs, works the lower body and core, with a variety of different movements designed to target these areas of the body, based on different formats, including circuit.
HIIT and core
HIIT and core combines high-intensity interval-training with abdominal exercises to lift the heart rate, increase the metabolism, and strengthen the core muscles in a short and intense workout.
Pilates
Pilates consists of moving through a slow, sustained series of exercises using abdominal control and proper breathing. The quality of each posture is more important than the number of repetitions or how energetically you can move. A great class to help improve posture and core strength in other training and also in everyday life.
Spin
Spin is an indoor cycling class, focusing on strength, speed, and endurance, with choreography designed to work and tone the lower body. As well as being an intense cardio-vascular workout, the class closely follows the beat of powerful, motivating music.
Tabata
Tabata is a type of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). It incorporates several rounds that alternate between high-intensity movements to significantly increase the heartrate to at least 80% of one’s maximum heart rate, followed by short periods of rest.
Yoga
Yoga is a practice that connects the body, breath, and mind. It uses physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve flexibility and strength for everyday life.
