Financial Risk Modelling CPD Scholarship

If you want to upskill in Financial Risk Modelling, GCU are offering two master's-level fully-funded CPD courses now..

In a changing global environment, businesses must make decisions about future risks and opportunities despite uncertainties. As technological advancements and the global health crisis continue to disrupt the world of work, firms will need to adapt to remain competitive while preparing for an uncertain future.

Due to the growing number and complexity of risks organisations face in their business, the demand for quantitative risk management has seen a significant generational increase. In recent times there is also an increased focus on the recent development of powerful techniques for estimating and analysing different types of risk, especially in the finance sector.

As a result of these developments, the skills to understand risk will be in global demand as the world looks to recover from the Covid pandemic and organisations continue to adapt to new challenges and delivery models.

A fundamental objective of this training is to expose participants to the foundation of probabilistic risk modelling and decision analysis using Monte Carlo simulation: a computerised mathematical technique that allows professionals to account for risk in quantitative analysis and decision making.

The Financial Risk Modelling module is the first of two fully-funded ‘upskilling’ modules. The second module is Data Analytics and AI Machine Learning.

Both upskilling modules are being delivered in collaboration with the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) for candidates seeking to grow their applied knowledge and understanding of Financial Risk Modelling and Credit Risk Modelling in the context of AI and Machine Learning.  Each course is a GCU certificated15-credit module at SCQF level 11.

Entry requirements and module details

Students successfully completing either module are able to use portable credit towards GCU’s MSc Financial Technology.

You can apply for both modules by selecting each title in the drop-down menu on the application form via the GCU online portal.
