Glasgow Caledonian University provides a wireless network for use by GCU staff and students called eduroam.
GCU is part of the JISC roaming service - which means that members of the University can use eduroam at thousands of participating educational institutions around the world. This service is provided for our own users as well as academic visitors from other eligible institutions to the University.

If you have access to eduroam at your own institution or location, you can continue to use eduroam while at GCU.
If you do not have access to eduroam, we provide guest Wi-Fi networks instead for connectivity.

WiFi-Guest registration instructions

These instructions apply if you are located in any of the following buildings:
Annie Lennox Charles Oakley Students' Association ARC CEE William Harley. Connect to WiFi-Guest Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device. Select 'WiFi-Guest' from the list of available networks. You will be redirected to the Sky Wi-Fi registration portal. If you have used this previously, continue with the sign-in process. What are the minimum software and hardware requirements for connection?

The wireless network is compatible for use with Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS devices.
Your device can use eduroam if it supports the WPA2 Enterprise wireless networking standard.
Devices which don't support WPA2 Enterprise capabilities will not be able to connect. Contact your device manufacturer's support to find out if it can connect to a WPA2 Enterprise network.
Can I use my eduroam account at other universities and colleges?

You can you use eduroam at any location that provides the eduroam network, so when you visit other locations, you do not have to change anything.
If your device is configured to use the eduroam network at Glasgow Caledonian University, you can be assured it will work at other locations providing the network.

Is eduroam secure?

When you use eduroam, the communications between your device and the wireless network are protected using industry-standard encryption.
This give you the highest level of protection we are able to offer.

Can I print from the wireless network to my own staff or departmental printer?

On corporate wireless: Yes, but this is only useful if you are close to your office or intend to pick up printing when you return to your department.
