Kiltwalk 2021

Team GCU raise an incredible £25,000 for the Common Good Campaign

Thanks to 30 kind-hearted GCU staff members – along with cousins, sons, daughters and dogs – who took on a variety of challenges including hourly runs, cycles and pull ups as part of GCU’s Kiltwalk Appeal, and raised an incredible £21,000.

The weekend of fundraising wrapped up with the Foundation’s online fundraiser with honorary graduates Martin Compston & Midge Ure which has given the total a further boost of £4,000 in ticket sales.

Jill Watt, Director of GCU Foundation, Alumni Engagement and Events said:  “Well done to all of Team GCU for taking on some really tough challenges over the weekend in support of our students. We may have undertaken our challenges separately but the team spirit and comradery has been fantastic. Their efforts have been rewarded by the hundreds of friends, family, alumni and donors who have so generously sponsored and backed our Campaign.”

Funds raised through the Common Good Campaign will help to provide bursaries for students with no access to income or family support, increasing the number of match funded internship opportunities and enhancing student mental health and wellbeing support.
