School of Science and Engineering summer programmes

The School of Science and Engineering (SSE) will be offering one Summer School and one pre-induction programme in 2026.

Maths Summer School

The Maths Summer School (MSS) is for direct entry students who have not undertaken or achieved specific mathematics units within their HN college course, or for those who wish to complete further maths study to prepare for advanced entry to GCU. Two streams run consecutively: Year 2 and part-time entry to Engineering, and Year 3 entry to Engineering.

Programmable Systems Pre-induction Programme

The Programmable Systems (PS) Pre-induction Programme is delivered by the Department of Engineering and is for direct entry students with offers into BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering who have a good grounding in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics but have not undertaken PS units within their HND.
