Our facilities

We offer a range of industry-standard facilities, ensuring our graduates have the highest levels of professional training. Organisations and industry professionals can take advantage of these unique facilities.

  • Fashion Factory: Our purpose-built studio is equipped with contemporary industrial machinery used for the design and production of fashion items including an industry-standard computer-aided design system for fashion and textile design, pattern making and retail merchandising.
  • Audio/video studio: Our dedicated studio facilities for video and audio production offer training using digital equipment. Industry-standard facilities including our new, purpose-built multimedia newsroom to produce television and radio news output.
  • Communications and media laboratory: A digital mass-media facility created to support the delivery of high-quality research. This is focused on key areas of contemporary popular culture.

Cross-disciplinary collaboration

A key part of our research output, we have a number of innovative cross-disciplinary centres that specialise in conducting economically and socially relevant research.

  • Moffat Centre The UK's largest university-based consultancy and research centre for tourism and travel market research and business development.
  • WiSE Centre for Economic Justice The WiSE research centre aims to promote and make visible women’s contributions and to boost Scotland’s economy through high-quality research, consultancy and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health The centre aims to transform the lives of the poorest through research examining the relationship between social business and health improvement.
