2021 Magnusson Award winner
GCU graduate and 2021 Magnusson Award winner, Robbie Norval, used his funding to deliver online language classes in care homes via his not-for-profit venture, Lingo Flamingo. Generously funded by Santander Universities UK, the Award also helped him train up carers to deliver the classes in person.
I am delighted to have received support from Santander Universities through the Magnusson Fund. It has gone a long way in helping Lingo Flamingo deliver engaging and meaningful activities for people living with dementia. The pandemic has made it a very different and challenging time for both carers and care home residents and this funding has allowed us to contribute some moments of joy and happiness to carers and residents within care home settings.
