Staff Email

Staff email is hosted on Exchange Online, which is part of the Microsoft 365 suite of apps.

Outlook is installed on machines supplied by Information Services.

When you start Outlook for the first time, it will prompt you to enter your email address and setup will then complete automatically with the correct settings.

If you get prompted to sign in, enter your username followed by @gcu.ac.uk and your domain password.

Office for Mac needs to be activated before you can use it to access staff email.  You can active Office from Outlook by clicking Outlook, then click Activate Office and sign in with your username followed by @gcu.ac.uk.

To add an account to access staff email, click Tools then Accounts, enter your email address, click Continue, sign in when prompted and setup will then complete automatically with the required settings.

Sign in directly to Outlook on the web at https://outlook.com/gcu.ac.uk

When you add an account on a mobile device app, enter your username followed by @gcu.ac.uk and setup will complete automatically with the correct settings.

The Outlook mobile app is recommended for accessing staff email.  Download and install the app on your device and follow the instructions below to setup your account.

Staff email can be accessed from the following additional mobile apps but some features are only available with the Outlook app.

Post Graduate Research Students

If you are a post graduate research student, you need to enter your username followed @caledonian.ac.uk when signing in to email and when adding an account on a mobile device.
