Student engagement and partnership working

Student engagement and partnership working is integral to Scotland’s tertiary approach to quality assurance and enhancement. This means that students are key partners in decision making, self-evaluation, and quality assurance and enhancement activities. The approach also ensures that the student voice informs, shapes and drives forward all enhancements to your own and others’ learning and wider student experience. At Glasgow Caledonian, we provide you with a wide range of opportunities to do this. These could be within your own programme of study, or you might also consider getting involved with wider University initiatives.

How will we do this?

We recognise that student engagement and partnership working activities need to be accessible and attractive for all students, and that capacity to get involved can be dependent on a wide range of factors. The student engagement in quality page outlines a variety of engagement and partnership working opportunities, with a range of commitment levels and areas of interest. For example, you can get involved in relatively quick activities, such as providing feedback to your class rep throughout the year and ahead of Student Partnership Forum meetings or completing your GCU Student Experience Survey. For more in-depth involvement, there are opportunities to undertake a student rep role or be involved in core quality assurance and enhancement activities and processes. All levels of student engagement and partnership working are valuable and contribute to the continuous assurance and enhancement of academic standards and the quality of the student learning experience.
