LDC international student support

The School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment's (SCEBE) Learning Development Centre (LDC) provides additional support for our international students, including on-campus and online workshops, during each trimester.

International student: Wednesday workshops

Week 2: Wednesday, 7 February

1.00pm - 2:00 pm: Managing an academic and cultural transition.

Week 3: Wednesday, 14 February

The workshops will be run via the Collaborate Ultra area in the SCEBE School of Computing Engineering and Built Environment module. If you are an SCEBE student and you are unable to access the workshops via the links, then email  askLDC@gcu.ac.uk, using your student email address, and make us aware of your issue.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

During Trimesters B, there will be a programme of weekly classes specifically for international postgraduate students designed to develop their academic writing at master's level.

The classes will be run via the Collaborate Ultra area in the English for Academic Purposes Module. They can also be accessed via the links shown below the class content descriptions.

Global Writing Café

The Global Writing Café is run by the Learning Development Centre and is an informal, relaxed communal study space for any SCEBE student who would like face-to-face academic support with written assignments, or to pick up strategies to help with effective learning and studying. You are welcome to drop in and bring questions with you.

This is an opportunity to meet face-to-face in an informal and relaxed communal study space for all SCEBE students.
