William A M Henderson

William Henderson has teaching interests mainly in public international law, human rights, international economic law, and employment law. His research interests focus upon the use of force in international law, the crime of aggression, sovereignty, workers’ rights, and application of the European Convention on Human Rights.

He has delivered lectures on public international law, WTO law, and human rights topics in Tanzania, Turkey and Georgia, and has taught at the University of Strathclyde and University of Glasgow. In recent years he has assisted a major international human rights NGO on a campaign against extraordinary rendition and torture, later advising the same NGO on domestic human rights legislation. He regularly advises parliamentarians on issues of law, policy and practice, and has served as an adviser in the secretariat of an international organisation during treaty negotiations at the UN Headquarters in New York.

William is a member of the International Law Association (ILA), European Society of International Law (ESIL), and Society of Legal Scholars (SLS).
