Dr Vasilios Stouraitis

Dr Vasilios Stouraitis is a lecturer in International Business and Management at Glasgow School for Business and Society, Programme Leader for the MSc International Business Management and visiting lecturer in institutions in Italy and Panama. Specializing in small and medium-sized enterprises and with a background in International Business and Economics, he holds a PhD from Henley Business School/University of Reading, an Msc in Development studies from University College London and an MBA and Bsc from the University of Kent. and is also a published author in international business strategy and entrepreneurship. Vasilios has taught in several institutions globally (Edinburgh Business School at Athens, The American University of Rome, Link Campus Rome, Swiss School of Management Rome) and supervised several BA/BSc and MA/MSc theses on International Business and entrepreneurship topics.
Dr Vasilios has published in journals such as the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research, Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development and in United Nations working paper series. His academic interests include SMEs, entrepreneurship and social enterprises, young entrepreneurs , exporting and agri-business smallholders. He speaks Italian, Greek, French, English and Spanish. He collects data regularly and welcomes collaborations on several pending projects including books and chapters.
He is also active in consulting and operational work with the United Nations (e.g. young agripreneurs) and Social Enterprises (board member and mentor). He has worked on development issues (agribusiness, entrepreneurship and governance) for the United Nations (Food and Agriculture Organization, IFPRI and the International Fund for Agricultural Development) and European Commission (DG Enterprise and Industry). The knowledge acquired from international teaching and other collaborations is also incorporated into teaching and module syllabus/delivery.
Dr Vasilios is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, supervising PhD students and open to new collaborations.
