Tracy joined Glasgow Caledonian University in 1986. She has over 36 years of higher education experience – 20 years as a member of academic schools' Senior Management Teams and the Academic Registrar’s Senior Leadership Team and three years as an elected Staff Governor on Court.
Tracy works in partnership with the Dean of School and Academic Registrar to ensure the provision of effective high-quality support structures, systems and services. She leads on learning and teaching projects that enhance the student experience and align with the University’s vision, mission and strategic objectives.
Tracy has been involved at senior level in extensive change management projects including establishing new governance frameworks, infrastructures and practices for five schools, the Directorate of Professional Support and for several departments.
Her ethos has always been to lead by motivating, encouraging, supporting and mentoring staff, and to continually improve processes and practices. She has the ability to rise to a challenge and change the culture and reputation of an area, and to achieve major successes even during a period of uncertainty and unrest.
Tracy is also an Aurora mentor to professional support staff and a participant in the Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations (ACOSVO) exchange leadership programme.
