Dr Sajid Nazir received his PhD (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) in 2012 from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Dr Sajid has worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Aberdeen on developing autonomous solar-powered remote monitoring systems supporting satellite and cellular communications. He has also worked in the industry as a Systems Engineer at Firstco Ltd., London where he worked on Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) projects and SCADA integration with CCTV and Public Address/Voice Alarm (PA/VA) systems.

Dr Sajid has research experience in machine learning, video coding standards, network protocols, autonomous remote monitoring systems, and cloud computing. He has authored a book and over 75 research publications. He has been an active member of a Working Group for cloud computing curriculum development, and has been involved in the knowledge exchange activities with the industry. He is currently supervising three PhD students.

Dr Sajid is a Senior Member of IEEE, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His current research interests include deep learning, embedded systems, medical image analysis, blockchain, and cloud computing.
