Professor Peter Jones is Director of GCU London, with overall responsibility for delivering operations at our highly popular East London campus.
Peter has worked at a number of UK institutions in leadership roles in a diverse range of academic disciplines. These have included Science, Engineering, Computing, Psychology, Business, and Sport and Exercise Sciences. Prior to his academic roles, Peter worked in the banking sector for County Natwest Securities where he was a market maker in Euroconvertible bonds.
Peter is a Principal Fellow of Advance HE and passionate about the use of technology and learning space design to enhance learning and teaching. Peter’s academic background is in Exercise Physiology with an undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science and a PhD in cardiovascular biochemistry, both from Liverpool John Moores University. He also has an MBA from the University of Northampton Peter’s research interests and academic publications are in the discipline of physical activity and health. Peter is currently Chair of Northamptonshire Sport, one of the forty-two Active Partnerships in the UK.
