Mhairi joined the Yunus Centre as a PhD student in October 2021. Her research explores the interactions between mental health and financial difficulty among young people during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how this intersects with social and economic policy. Prior to starting her PhD, Mhairi gained a BSc in Psychology from the University of Stirling.
Mhairi’s PhD is entitled, “Investigating the relationship between Social Policy, Financial Difficulty and Mental Health of Young Adults in the UK during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Evidence from Panel Data”, and is supervised by Dr Sarkis Manoukian, Professor John McKendrick and Dr Olga Biosca.
