Catherine is a Lecturer in Vision Sciences and graduated from the University of Sheffield with BMedSci (Orthoptics) in 2013. She went on to work clinically, first in NHS Lothian, followed by a post in NHS Fife as a Specialist Orthoptist.

Catherine came to GCU in 2018 to undertake a PhD researching the use of eye tracking in visual field loss rehabilitation. Throughout her PhD, Catherine has taught on all four of the programmes within the Vision Sciences department. This experience resulted in her accepting a lectureship at GCU in 2022. Catherine continues to teach on all four programmes within the Vision Sciences Department, with her focus on the Orthoptics programme. She also retains a clinical post within the NHS.
