Dr Kate Ngai

Lecturer in Media and Journalism

Kate Ngai is a Lecturer in Media and Journalism at Glasgow Caledonian University. She joined the school in September, 2021 after completing her PhD in Media and Cultural Policy from the University of Glasgow.

Kate’s doctoral research examines both moderate and cyclical fan behaviour, as well as individual television viewing habits. Kate has previously taught courses in film and television, audience management, and comparative literature. Her research interests include fan culture, nostalgia television, and media engagement.
