Karen McDairmant is Senior Research Centre Administrator within Research and Knowledge Exchange Services (RKES) at Glasgow Caledonian University. She leads and coordinates administrative support for the Research Centre for Health (ReaCH) and the Centre for Research into Innovative and Sustainable Environments (RISE), supporting the effective delivery of research centre activities and strategic objectives.

Karen graduated with a degree in Economics and Marketing from the University of Strathclyde in 2003. Since then, she has built extensive experience across both further and higher education, holding professional roles at Dumfries and Galloway College, University of Strathclyde, and Glasgow Caledonian University.

Drawing on more than two decades of experience in education administration, Karen works closely with academic and professional services colleagues to support research and foster collaboration. She supports the efficient operation of ReaCH and RISE through managing the centres' communications and engagement activities, website development, production of quarterly newsletters, and promotion of research through social media channels.

She coordinates the centres' seminar series, the Crucible programme, dissemination events and stakeholder engagement activities, while also supporting wider research events across the University. Karen also supports patient and public involvement activities, helping to strengthen collaboration and stakeholder engagement across the University's research community.
