Dr Jane Guiller is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology. Jane is a Chartered Psychologist, Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Jane’s expertise lies in the psychology of digital learning, with a particular focus on how students engage with and create digital content, and how immersive technologies can enhance educational experiences.

Currently, Jane is the nominated Academic Misconduct Investigator for the department and a member of the University-wide Senate Disciplinary Committee. Jane is also a reviewer for the AdvanceHE-accredited RPL pathway at GCU (‘Accelerate’). Jane leads the Social Cyberspsychology module on the undergraduate Applied Psychology programme.

Jane has led scholarly research projects exploring student-created digital artefacts and the use of virtual reality to teach psychology and skills development. Jane has a strong track record of working in partnership with students to co-create curriculum and enhance the student experience. Jane has developed undergraduate modules in cyberpsychology, blending core psychological theory with applied digital contexts to help students understand online behaviour, identity, influence, and wellbeing.

In 2025, Jane was awarded the GCU Students’ Association Award for Cutting Edge Curriculum, recognising her commitment to developing meaningful and innovative learning experiences. Jane is currently working on a Digital Psychology textbook
