Department of Computer ScienceDr Dawn Carmichael is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science within the School of Science and Engineering at GCU. Dr Dawn Carmichael’s doctoral research was on social capital software metrics for social media. The research involved devising and validating novel social network analysis formulae and related software as well as creating a validation methodology. She has lead funded research projects in the areas of quality enhancement as well as social media for socially isolated young carers. She also has track record in Quality Enhancement serving as chair of a Teaching & Learning Committee and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has a broad range of teaching experience in Computing specialising in Human Computer Interaction and social games design and development.
