Dr Constantinos Choromides

Constantinos Choromides is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the Certificate, Diploma and Degree for the Railway Operations Management programme (South Africa). Having previously occupied other roles in the university including programme leadership for the Applied Professional Practice MBA, he has been involved in the curriculum development, management and review of the apprenticeship provision in Business & Management since 2017.

Prior to joining GCU, he was Programme Leader in the Faculty of Business and Economics at Athens Metropolitan College in Greece, responsible for the delivery and management of a suite of Business & LLB programmes in collaboration with the University of London International Programmes, Queen Margaret University and the University of East London. Prior to this, Constantinos held managerial roles within telecommunication, financial services, management consulting, and real estate organisations, delivering on organisational strategy and objectives.

An advocate of Work-Based Learning, he is focusing on improving management effectiveness through reflective practice and application of theory in work-based scenarios. Constantinos awarded his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh. He holds a BSc in Marketing from the University of La Verne and an MBA from the University of Stirling. He is a HEA Senior Fellow and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Management Institute, with over 20 years of experience. He brings a range of leadership skills and

experience, both from his diverse industry background and roles within Higher Education, and has combined this experience to support the University with the development of apprenticeship programmes.

Constantinos has been teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of leadership, management and strategy development, and he has been involved in supervising undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students in the UK.

Constantinos’ research interests are in the areas of the internationalisation strategy of Multinational Enterprises, by using a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches and on how management learning can be enhanced and facilitated in organisations, on inclusive and flexible curriculum development in work-based education, and the operational impact of work-based learning on transformational change in human capital challenges through TNE collaborative partnerships. Constantinos also serves on the international editorial advisory board of the Journal of Urban and Regional Analysis.

Constantinos’ consultancy includes work with FMCG, IT, energy & utilities, local government, transportation, health services, and financial services.
