Chris Greenwood is Senior Research Fellow of the Moffat Centre for Travel and Tourism Business Development and first joined Glasgow Caledonian University in 2022. Chris is responsible for overseeing and implementing the commercial research programme at the Moffat Centre.
With over 17 years of experience in utilising and working with UK and International tourism data sources as well as wider economic and financial indicators, Chris is an experienced market and industry researcher focusing on monitoring and interpreting trends in Scottish Tourism.
Formally a Senior Research and Insights Manager at Scotland’s National Tourist Board, he contributed to the development and monitoring of the current and previous national tourism strategies (Scotland Outlook 2030 and Tourism Scotland 2020) and consulted on destination and sector plans.
Chris contributed to COVID-19 recovery plans for the Scottish Tourism Emergency Response Group through trend and scenario generation. These in turn developed into the adapted delivery of the national tourism strategy.
Chris developed and implemented VisitScotland’s trend analysis programme from 2013 to 2022 and is a member of the Tourism & Hospitality Industry Leadership Group.
