Carlene started her part-time PhD in October 2022 with Dr Karen Lorimer and Dr Jenny Dalrymple. The aim of her research is to explore the experiences of survivors of sexual violence and their experiences in help-seeking to healthcare.
Carlene currently works full time in the third sector and has completed a Masters of Public Health (GCU), an MSc in Forensic Psychology and Criminology and a MA in Religious Studies.
Carlene is a member of the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Viruses Research Group and the Gender Research and Equalities Network.
