Amanda Davis is the Solutions Lead for Apprenticeships working within the Institute of University to Business Education (U2B) at Glasgow Caledonian University. She was appointed to Glasgow Caledonian in May 2019 quickly establishing herself as a key member of the U2B team.
Amanda has significant experience of working in further and higher education in both Scotland and the wider UK. She holds an honours degree in American History and Politics from the University of Dundee and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Liverpool John Moores University.
Prior to joining Glasgow Caledonian, Amanda held posts as Curriculum Head at the City of Glasgow College and Associate Lecture at Edinburgh Napier University teaching International Hospitality Management.
As Solutions Lead for Apprenticeships, Amanda, acts as a conduit between employers and Glasgow Caledonian academic and professional services teams, promoting better communication through a dedicated contact person for employers across the University.
Her key responsibilities include the delivery of induction sessions for all new Graduate Apprentices, which focuses on the importance of mentorship in securing a successful conclusion to their studies. Alongside her academic colleagues, Amanda co-delivers mentorship workshops for employers, which help develop an understanding of the Graduate Apprenticeship Programmes and the role and expectations of work-based mentors, including the contextualisation of academic assignments within the workplace.
