This project aims to advance current understanding of youth civic engagement and to establish Living Labs in London, Seville, and Lisbon. The Living Labs with young people will co-create recommendations for policy to facilitate adolescents and emerging adults to participate in democratic processes.
Through collaborative activities, the project will co-create policy recommendations designed to enhance and facilitate young people’s participation in democratic life.
Synthesis of existing knowledge on young people and civic engagement and how Living Labs have been used so far and their impact. Formulate new measures and generate insights from young people on the social, cultural, political, and European identities, sense of belonging, and civic, democratic, and political practices and experience of participation. Implement Living Labs working with young people to practice democratic participation towards policy recommendations.
In the UK, GCU will work in partnership with the Osmani Trust. The Osmani Trust is a registered charity in the UK set up in 2009 located in the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets and serves the youth populations and communities mainly of this Borough and adjacent Boroughs.
