Routes for All

Routes for All is part of GCU’s contribution to the National Schools Programme, a national initiative in Scotland funded by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC). Focus West is responsible for collaborative delivery in the west of Scotland, and is the funding partner of Routes for All at GCU.

The Routes for All programme has been developed to inform and guide school pupils in S5 and S6 to study Higher National Courses at college.  Throughout a series of regular visits to school, Routes For All staff deliver topic based sessions on study skills, exam preparation, researching college course options, writing effective personal statements and completing college application forms. Student mentors help to facilitate the sessions and share their experience of higher education with the pupils that they support.

Visits to a college and university campus are also included in the programme, to enable learners to experience a college environment and gain awareness of potential progression to articulation pathways after college.
