Entrepreneur Ambassadors
Volunteer as a GCU Entrepreneur Ambassador
UHatch is an entrepreneurial hub initiative designed to support GCU students, staff and alumni to realise their business dreams and help to make their ideas a reality. It offers a wide range of support such as workshops, mentoring, and funding opportunities, designed to develop business skills and allow members to progress their own businesses. These operate in a wide range of industries, predominantly IT & Gaming; Online retail; Food & Drink; and Consultancy.
Launched in 2015 by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care Humza Yousaf MSP, UHatch has supported an impressive number of start-up businesses. Of these, one third are led by women, and half are led by BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) entrepreneurs. In the last two years alone, and despite 18 months of lockdown, UHatch has grown to support an impressive 60 start-up businesses, of which two thirds are managed by GCU graduates.
Many GCU alumni and honorary graduates have volunteered their time as mentors and ambassadors to support students and graduates through UHatch, offering time and expertise to mentor start-up businesses and support them through those crucial early stages in their growth and development.
GCU plans to recruit new entrepreneur mentors and ambassadors in 2022. If you would like to find out more about UHatch, or register your interest, please use the links below and thank you so much for your time and interest.
