CEO of Dogs Trust and formerly Movember

Owen Sharp’s career began in nursing after graduating from GCU and progressed to leadership roles in the NHS.

Taking on a new role as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), he rebranded Prostate Cancer Charity as Prostate Cancer UK, led a merger with Prostate Action and launched a high-profile Men United Campaign.

Gaining skills from different industries

Going from strength to strength, Owen later became CEO of leading global men’s health charity Movember, well-known for the annual No Shave November campaign.

For this, he was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Science at GCU in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the world of healthcare.

Now he is the CEO of the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust.

My career path has been varied, it’s been surprising. It’s never been what I have been expecting and I think that is what I have probably loved the most.
