2020 BSc Nursing Studies (Adult)

Ainsleigh Gillon

Why did you choose GCU?

Despite not being from Glasgow, there’s a homely feeling to GCU. I came for orientation after being granted a conditional and I instantly felt like it was where I was meant to be. No other university did this for me, and I previously visited.

How would you describe your experience at GCU?

Unimaginable! I met so many people from all over Glasgow and the UK. I am blessed to be classed as GCU Alumni! The degree course and the University are first class.

What are your fondest memories of GCU?

It has to be the laughs (and studying) that my fellow students and I had in the fantastic on-site internet cafe. I honestly will never forget my GCU family!

How would you describe the quality of the teaching and support you received from GCU?

The lectures and academic staff work to a high standard and provide gold-standard education. The learning development centre offers endless opportunities for support and guidance. I was surprised when I was studying at just how supported I felt. I thought University meant you had to do it alone, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Can you tell us how you coped with the transition to online learning during the pandemic?

Luckily, I had finished all my academic work in the previous year as I took time out for personal reasons. However, when I resumed, I felt fully supported by the staff at GCU.
