John McGlynn

John McGlynn founded his first business at the age of just 21 while still at university. With degrees in Accounts and Law John has studied at Harvard Business School, been responsible for establishing over 80 new ventures, and was the founding Director of the Entrepreneurial Exchange in London, as well as a former Vice Chairman of the Entrepreneurial Exchange in Scotland.

Specialising in self-storage, property investment and development, John founded Scottish Capital over 20 years ago, the private investment vehicle for his diverse portfolio of business, which includes Storage Vault, Covault Workspace and IOMcompany.com a bespoke corporate services provider.

John shares details of his career journey, what drives his success and key lessons he has learned along the way. Following COP26 in Glasgow, John also shares insights into what business and entrepreneurial start-ups are, and can be, doing to play their part in becoming more sustainable and socially accountable.
