A passionate advocate for equality and diversity, Eilidh Barbour is challenging stereotypes in the male-dominated sphere of sports broadcasting.

A reporter and presenter for the BBC and Sky Sports, Eilidh leads Sky Sports Scottish Premier League, the BBC’s Final Score, Football Focus, Match of the Day 2, and FA Cup draws and highlights as well as The Women’s Football Show. She is also the face of the BBC’s golf coverage.

Since 2015, Eilidh has covered major sporting events including FIFA Women’s World Cups, the Euros and the Winter Olympics, as well as The Open, The Masters, PGA Championships and The Ryder Cup.

Eilidh also presents the BBC Women’s Six Nations highlights show and regularly hosts events, including Glasgow Caledonian University’s Sir Alex Ferguson Golf Classic 2022, which raised £175,000 to support students joining the University from challenging backgrounds. Eilidh first teed off in support of the GCU Foundation event in 2017.

As a woman in a male-dominated field, Eilidh is a vocal supporter of tackling inequality. She backs the Kick it Out campaign, which challenges discrimination in sport, and was among the journalists who walked out of the Scottish Football Writers’ Association Gala
Dinner last year. They were protesting the sexist content of a speech, leading to a review of its events by the Association. A player for Partick Thistle Ladies, Eilidh has called for greater diversity and representation in women’s football.
