Editor-in-Chief at Newsquest Scotland

Callum is the Editor-in-Chief of Newsquest Scotland, a media company that owns The National, The Herald, the Glasgow Times, and other newspapers and magazines.

Callum graduated from Glasgow Caledonian in 2013 and started on the sports desk at The Herald that year and then was appointed Deputy Editor of The National in 2014.

He has won several awards for his work as an editor and journalist and has launched new projects and platforms for his titles.

He commented: “I’m honoured and delighted to have been given this award. It was really unexpected. There’s no question that my time with GCU was perfect preparation for getting into the industry, and gave me the confidence to quickly progress in my career. Not only that, when recruiting for staff now as Editor-in-Chief, there’s no question that a degree from GCU’s journalism department is a stamp of quality in any potential new hire.
