GCNYC

Trailblazing Glasgow Caledonian New York College (GCNYC) was the first foreign education establishment to be given degree-granting authority in New York State.

Its life-changing master’s courses provide international and US students with the skills to influence businesses, industries and systems, by focusing on what matters most – people and planet, as well as profitability. It puts GCU’s mission for the Common Good, with its drive for social innovation, at the heart of the commercial capital of the world.

In 2020, they became the only American college to offer a master’s degree in sustainable fashion.

Ninety per cent of GCNYC alumni have advanced in their careers or moved into careers in sustainability or social impact for business. They are social entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, founding their own ventures or leading sustainability strategies for major companies. Alumni include the Manager of Product Sustainability at Ralph Lauren, Director of Global Sustainability at Converse, Vice President for Raw Materials Strategy at PVH, and Senior Vice President Supply Chain Innovation at the Savory Institute.

These alumni and dozens of other partners working for sustainability and corporate social responsibility have become partners of GCNYC’s Center for Social Impact and Innovation to mentor student research in these fields. More than 1,500 people have also attended public-facing events promoting sustainability and social business hosted by the Center.

Set up to exacting standards, GCNYC holds full Middle States Commission on Higher Education accreditation, a status achieved through a rigorous peer evaluation that affirmed GCNYC’s fulfilment of quality standards across all operations. It ensures that GCNYC students have access to federal financial aid and enhances opportunities for enrollment partnerships with other regionally-accredited colleges.

With these developments, and as New York City emerges from the global pandemic, GCNYC is looking forward to growing further in the years ahead, and helping to deliver positive social impact for the Common Good, globally.
