ALC students and 2022 Magnusson winners

ALC students and 2022 Magnusson winners, Cynthia and Reggie, used their Nicol Magnusson Award to launch their Glow and Grow project, with the mission of eliminating the use of fossil fuels and reducing greenhouse gases by training pastoralist communities in Kenya about off-grid energy solutions. They improved the lives of hundreds of pupils and families by equipping them with solar lamps to help evening studies and reducing the need to spend money on expensive fossil fuels.

We are very grateful for the chance, opportunity and doors that winning the Magnusson Fund opened for us. We successfully initiated, launched and executed this phase of the Glow and Grow project. We were successful in meeting our project objectives of eliminating the use of fossil fuels as a source of lighting and equipping more than 150 families with solar lamps. We also  managed to raise a second round of funding. Thank you again to GCU and the Magnusson Fund.
