Pat Dunion is Company Director, and formerly COO, at Transform Medical Group – one of the leading providers of medical aesthetics and cosmetic surgery in the UK.

But there was a time when she thought the opportunity to study at university would pass her by, and with it, her future as a businesswoman.

It was only because her father was compensated for a knee injury that her family was able to afford for Pat to enrol on the Business Studies course which changed her life.

That’s why she feels so strongly about using the success she achieved through her own education to help open doors for students from underprivileged backgrounds so that they too can access the same life-changing opportunities.

Pat said, “My time at Glasgow Caledonian helped me grow and mature as a person. The year out working in the industry as part of my degree gave me the confidence to pursue a successful and rewarding career in the IT industry.

“So, I can honestly say the Business Studies course at Glasgow Caledonian played a huge and important part of my life. It opened doors for me to opportunities that I would never otherwise have been fortunate enough to experience.

“Therefore, being able to help students who may otherwise miss out on the opportunity to study is what motivates me to give.

“I realised how fortunate I was to have parents who were so supportive and that my dad had access to the money required. If both these circumstances weren’t so, I could not have afforded to take up my degree placement.”
