Dr Murray Rowden
GCU alumnus and honorary graduate Dr Murray Rowden has taken a leading role in our 150th anniversary celebrations by partnering with GCU Foundation founding donor Sir Alex Ferguson CBE.
Together as Campaign Ambassadors, they have generously pledged £500,000 to fund 150 new scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds including those who are care-experienced or estranged from family.
This generous support celebrates the University’s enduring commitment to opening doors to education and unlocking potential, reflecting the values of access, equality and inclusion that have defined GCU for the last 150 years.
Dr Murray Rowden said: “Glasgow Caledonian University has played a pivotal role in shaping both my career and my values. The education I received, and the support I was given, opened doors I never imagined possible. Backing this campaign is my way of giving back to ensure that future students, regardless of their circumstances, have the same chance to succeed and make a difference. I’m proud to stand with GCU in building a legacy of opportunity and inclusion.”
