Mindy’s research and pedagogies focus on using creative and inclusive approaches to explore inequalities in everyday life, specialising in disability, gender, and youth. Her doctoral research used zine-making to facilitate disabled girls and young women to explore the issues that matter to them. Mindy has contributed expertise to a range of projects including Plan UK's State of Girls Rights in the UK, and Scotland in Lockdown. Mindy also leads the research projects Researcher's Don't Cry?! and Quilting as a Method and Medium for Decolonising the Curriculum and is a member of the Gender and Education Association Executive Committee. Before moving into academia full-time, Mindy led and designed community development and peacebuilding projects in Scotland and internationally for over a decade.
