Developing Nurse Led Services

Programme Description

This module provides an opportunity to explore the systems and the scope of nursing roles within the UK.

The module will introduce the summer school students to the National Health Service, the UK Nursing education systems and the scope of nursing roles within the UK. Students will be actively encouraged to compare and contrast systems, cultural issues and funding between the UK and their own country. Students will develop an awareness of nurse-led services, the provision of nursing roles in healthcare systems and gain transferrable skills to broaden their future careers.

Virtual visits to local hospitals and practices are included in this course. Depending on COVID restrictions, face-to-face visits may also be included.
