Overview

Around the world, health and social care services are coming together to prioritise the support that individuals, families and their communities need. The level of practice needed to inform and contribute meaningfully to this global movement is being realised. As a result, advanced practice masters-level qualifications for registered health and social care practitioners are in demand.

Glasgow Caledonian University is recognised as an institution committed to transforming lives through education and innovating for social and economic impact. The University's Masters in Advanced Practice has been designed in consultation with policy advisors, clinicians, students and patient representatives. We recognise the importance of service user and carer perspectives when it comes to defining a flexible approach to practice experience and in advancing core and area-specific levels of clinical competence

This course recognises that advanced paramedic practitioners must demonstrate high-level decision-making and problem-solving skills in challenging, complex clinical situations as part of caring for the population, requiring advanced scholarship to underpin safe and effective practice.

"Your masters experience will be focused on the four pillars of Advanced Practice; Clinical Practice, Facilitation of Learning, Leadership, and Evidence, Research and Development" (NES 2016)
