CPD Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
The globally recognised Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification provides you with transferable skills in accountancy which can be applied across all business sectors as well as providing a pathway to becoming a qualified accountant.
The ACCA is a world-leading international accountancy body, operating in over 170 countries. Its recognition under UK legislation empowers it to regulate its members to undertake statutory audit and to conduct investment business. GCU has received Gold Approved Learning Partner status by ACCA. The programme is available on a part-time basis for HNC/HND holders or graduates working in the accounting profession with a flexible structure to suit student and employer needs.
The ACCA qualification has a practical and theoretical focus, providing you with an advanced understanding and specialist knowledge in accountancy. Designed with consideration of the increased focus on professionalism and ethics within accounting, there is a strong focus on professional values, ethics and governance throughout. Examinations are set and marked by ACCA. Admission to the examinations is limited to registered ACCA students. Exemptions are granted to students with HNC/HND qualifications and recognised degrees.
Your career
The flexibility of this qualification means there are a wide range of opportunities available to ACCA members in the business world. Graduates can pursue opportunities in general management in the public and private sectors, specialising in areas such as audit, taxation or information technology.

Exemptions
Students with HNDs, HNCs or recognised degrees are given exemptions which vary according to the subjects studied.

Academic IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no element below 5.5.
Please note: if you are from a majority English speaking country, you may not be required to provide further proof of your English Language proficiency.

Study and duration
Part-time, three years approximately
Programme duration is dependent on how many papers the student is exempt from and how many the student chooses to study per trimester. It is not recommended that students study more than two papers per trimester.
Please note: where relevant, the paper taught will be the International Version except for F4 which is the Scottish version.

As well as completing our online application form, you must also be registered with the ACCA to sit the exams.
Although there is no deadline date to submit your completed application form to GCU, we would ask that you submit it as soon as possible to allow adequate time for processing.
The tuition fees you pay are mostly determined by your fee status. What is my student fee status?

SAAS funding
Some of our ACCA courses are eligible for the SAAS part-time fees grant. Please download our notes for students applying for SAAS Part-time Fee Grant
There are Revision Courses available for each of the papers listed above which are incorporated into the course fee for current students. These courses take place near the end of the course, usually on a Saturday and/or Sunday, and are intended as revision before the exam in either April, June, September or December. Please note; Strategic Business leader has two revision days.
