Dr Zoe McVinnie is a Lecturer in Psychology and Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology at GCU. She holds an MSc in Psychology from Nottingham Trent University, an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Sheffield Hallam University, and completed her PhD in Physical Activity and Health at Loughborough University. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Zoe has previously held teaching and research posts at Loughborough University and Nottingham Trent University.
Zoe teaches on a range of undergraduate modules in the Department of Psychology. She is also Module Leader for the Political and Cultural Psychology module at level 2. Her research interests include physical activity and mental health, and health behaviour change.
Her PhD work involved research on health promotion through mass participation sport events. Her subsequent project work includes embedding physical activities into peer support groups for people severely affected by mental illness, and physical activity for symptom and disease management for people moderately to severely affected by MS.
