Dr Yang Fang is a Lecturer in Finance at Glasgow Caledonian University. She joined the department in November 2025. She holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Aberdeen (Elphinstone Studentship), and an MSc in Accounting and Finance (Distinction) from the University of Surrey. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), serves as an External Examiner in UK higher education, and is a Visiting Lecturer at UCL.
Prior to joining GCU, Yang was a Lecturer at the University of Westminster, where she served as Course Leader for the MSc FinTech with Business Analytics programme, leading curriculum development and programme delivery.
At GCU, Yang teaches undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Finance, FinTech, and Business Analytics, with a strong focus on research-informed teaching, digital finance, and employability skills.
Yang’s research lies at the intersection of ESG, FinTech, corporate finance, and machine learning, adopting an interdisciplinary approach through collaboration in various subject. She has been published in internationally recognised journals, including International Review of Financial Analysis, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and Asia Pacific Business Review. She is also a member of Scotland Beyond Net Zero, contributing to addressing climate challenges.
